Body balance
Dr. D works on the entire spine, but his focus is the upper neck. The upper cervical region of the spine consists of the occiput (back of head), atlas (C1) and axis (C2). This area affects the balance of the rest of the spinal column. The average head weighs about the same as a bowling ball. When there is a misalignment of the one of the top two neck bones, the weight of the head will be shifted off center and the rest of the spinal column will react and compensate. This compensation can lead to inflammation, pain, and tenderness in other parts of the body.
nutrition
The food we eat can either enhance or hinder health. We get our energy from food. Our digestive and detoxification processes are affected by the food. The proper functioning of our immune system is impacted by what we eat. Food impacts each of us differently. Some foods lead to inflammation causing tenderness, pain, and pressure. Dr. D helps his patients assess their diets using inflammation and food sensitivity testing to identify barriers to health.
movement
Movement is a key component to health. Our musculoskeletal system is made up of muscles, ligaments, and tendons that overlap joints to help us move. Our cardiovascular, lymphatic, and digestive systems work more efficiently when we move more. Dr. D is passionate about getting patients to move more than they currently are moving. How much movement do you get on a daily basis?
